It was not an easy road, but the journey was fun and exciting.

The Houston Astros defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers Wednesday evening in Game 7 of the World Series, by a score of 5-1. For the first time in their history, the Houston Astros are World Series Champions.

They won over 100 games this season and were a favorite to represent the American League in the World Series. It took going the distance before beating the New York Yankees, and it took going the distance to defeat the Dodgers. The world was giving a treat as the MLB postseason this year was one to remember, full of exciting matchups.

In the end, it’s the Astros standing above all others.

Carlos Beltran and Brian McCann finally get their World Series championships. Young super stars like Jose Altuve, Carlos Correa, and George Springer are just getting started with their promising careers. Dallas Keuchel, Justin Verlander, and the rest of the Astros starting pitchers each had their moments of complete domination this postseason.

Make no mistake about it, this championship run was a complete team effort. The city of Houston, which has been through so much this year, once again has something to cherish, to lift spirits.

Congratulations Houston, you are World Series Champions!
